Dead Hooker in the Horror Booth with Emily

Emily Katherine Booth (born April 26, 1976), also known by her stage name Emily "Bouff" Bouffante, is an English actress and television presenter.

Booth is known for her roles in such cult films as PERVIRELLA, CRADLE OF FEAR, EVIL ALIENS, and the BAFTA nominated short film INFERNO. She also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez's double header GRINDHOUSE (2007) in the mock trailer "DON'T", by Edgar Wright (director of SHAUN OF THE DEAD).

Emily Booth is a badass, femme fatale with a love for B-Movies. You can see this cult status knock-out everywhere, whether she be presenting, acting in one of her ass kicking horror flicks, burning up the pages as a model, or making the world a better place. Seriously. She self-financed a trip to Cambodia to assist in a documentary in hopes of changing the face of the troubled country. Beautiful, talented, witty, and she has a big heart.


This past July 29th marked the beginning of The Horror Channel's television screenings of DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and it is an extremely hug fucking honor to have the fabulous Emily Booth presenting the flick.

SCREAM, the Horror Magazine, Interviews us Twisted Twins

When it rains it pours (and us Vancouver grrls know a thing or two about rain).


In this particular situation, the rain is a very welcome thing as it is a rain of rad proportions. DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK is out thanks to the people who truly care about independent film and have made it their mission to bring the absolute best of it to the people, IFC. Thank you, IFC, for being the best friends an independent artist could ever ask for. If you're just waking up from a coma, this may be news to you. Congrats for waking up in a world where DHIAT is on the UK Horror Channel all throughout the month, on Video On Demand (thank you, IFC Midnight!), and will be hitting limited theaters across the USA and Canada in a series of special midnight screenings. Locations and dates are a coming.

We had the esteemed joy of speaking with Scream The Horror Magazine's Richard Cooper about our journey to this point, what we've got going on now, and where the future is leading us. It is a beautiful three page, in depth interview with one of the most kick ass publications in the UK.

Oh, and did I mention we LOVE the UK? Cuz we very much do...

Cool Hooker Luke

There are few words that actually an put the feeling into text of having DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK not only released in the UK & Australia - courtesy of Bounty Films, released on VOD with a limited theatrical release in the US & Canada - courtesy of IFC Midnight, and now on television - courtesy of The Horror Channel. It's enough to keep these filmmakers feeling extremely humbled by the outpour of kindness, support, and enjoyment of the flick.


It makes our life to hear what people have to say about the project. It was a great ambition of ours to make a project that was fun to watch and completely insane - to know that we hit the mark means the world to us. It's on VOD right freakin' now and it'll also be hitting limited theaters across the USA and Canada is a series of special midnight screenings.

We have our VERY first interview after the DHIAT explosion with a writer that is very close to our hearts. If you don't know, you really ought to know that Raz Griffin is the man. He heads up our Twisted Twins UK division and in addition to being an extremely talented writer, he is also like a brother to us. It's a real pleasure to have such a wonderful extended family. He has recently started up RAZ'S MIDNIGHT MACABRE, a blog to collect his reviews, interviews, writing, and all things dark, devious, and delightful.

Twisted Twins Meet the Metro

Vancouver twin sisters Jen and Sylvia Soska have taken the next step in their quest to break through in the testosterone-filled world of horror films. - Phylicia Torrevillas, MetroNews Canada

It is an incredible privilege to have had the lovely Phylicia Torresvillas take the time to talk to us for our big DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK release! She met up with us, we had a great chat, and then she took some photos of us that are gorgeous - I think I may be in love. Thank you so kindly for giving us and our production this huge privilege of appearing in a nationally printed newspaper, one that I fucking love reading!

The Soska sisters say it has been a long journey since they made their Vancouver-filmed, low-budget bloodbath feature Dead Hooker in a Trunk in 2007.

Twisted Twins in Rue Morgue Censorship Piece

Rue Morgue is a name that is synonymous with horror. It is a publication exclusively devoted to horror in culture and entertainment and also features cinema, store, archives, events and general information.


We were given the esteemed pleasure recently of speaking with their Aaron Berman in regards to an ugly trend of horror films and the artists behind them being targeted by censors. In 2010, Sitges Film Festival director Ángel Sala was charged with exhibiting child pornography when he showed A SERBIAN FILM at an Adults Only screening. In 2009, Remy Couture, a Montreal based makeup effects artist, was charged with “corruption of morals” after a complaint was made about images found on Couture’s website “Inner Depravity”. Recently THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2 has been banned in the United Kingdom by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

This past April, us Twisted Twins and our DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK ran into a little trouble when our film was banned at the Roxy Theatre in Saskatoon (catch up here). It was meant to be our Canadian premiere outside of our hometown of Vancouver, but we came under the attack of censors because of the title of our film alone. The following week, they also banned Canadian Jason Eisener's HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. The outstanding horror community banded together behind our films and we cannot thank them enough. The Broadway Theatre welcomed both films in and the screenings went off with much enthusiasm. At that time we had spoke with wonderful Rue Morgue writer April Snellings about the controversy (get that one here).

We both have very strong feelings about censorship. This month we were given the supreme honor of appearing in Rue Morgue Magazine in an outstanding article about this trend by Aaron Berman.

To appear in a magazine that we have long time adored leaves us speechless. A very special thank you to Aaron Berman, April Snellings, and Rue Morgue Magazine.
