Goodbye, Blogger, Rest Your Weary Head Sweet Prince...

Hello, beloved boys and grrls...

Since we started out in our ventures of filmmaking, we've utilized social media and online video and blog sites to keep you abreast (giggity) of all of our exploits. From film news to behind the scenes goodies, from rants to raves, beginnings and ends, Blogger has been the first avenue we embraced to connect with you all. It started at DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and has continued to grow as we have.

Blogger has seen us travel the world. It's seen us at our best. It's been there at our lowest. We've shared laughs and tears and memories that we'll never lose and always have just a library scroll away. But as our lives have changed, so has the world around us. New avenues have opened up for us to connect with you all. We now have so many ways to connect, many very VERY user friendly and so simple even at my most intoxicated can I regale you with every thought that enters into my mind and our long running quest for total and utter world domination beginning with the beautiful nation of Canada.

It is with a heavy heart that we now end our Blogger journey together. As our lives have changed, our time is more limited and we need to prioritize our methods of communication. We will always have our history together, but we will no longer be updating our Blogger. It will now take its well earned place in Valhalla as an archive of our journey from ambitious youngsters who wanted to kick the film world in the balls to the forces of nature we've evolved to today. None of which would have been possible without the love and support of you all and our methods of reaching you all.

Goodnight, sweet Prince. At long last, your work here is done.

You will be able to follow us and all that is to come for us on FACEBOOK, TWITTER, TUMBLR, INSTAGRAM, FLICKR, and YOUTUBE.

Thank you to all of you for being here with as throughout all and a very special welcome to those of you just coming into our lives and everyone in between. Thank you from the very bottoms of our Twisted little hearts....

Fatally Yours,
Jen and Sylv

AMERICAN MARY win Horror Central's Fan's Choice Best of 2013

"Katherine Isabelle was absolutely born for the role of “Bloody Mary”, and her performance in this feature is nothing short of hypnotizing. There is no denying that the actress delivers a once in a lifetime performance, making the character believable, terrifying, and sympathetic all in the same frame; and all with elegant and flawless variations of simple facial expressions and features. If Dead Hooker in a Trunk was an experiment, then American Mary is the hypothesis. Jen and Sylvia Soska (AKA The Twisted Twins) set a new standard in independent horror filmmaking, and judging by the amazing leap between their first and second films, this community is nothing short of lucky to have both of them gracing the screen with their horrifying visions."

A huge thank you to Horror Central and all the fans that voted for choosing AMERICAN MARY as one of your favorite films of 2013. To have the fans have voted and chosen means the world to us. Thank you so very much. This is awesome.

Four days until tWIStED tWINS PRODUCtIONS's five year anniversary on December 11th!

"You have to go after what you want in this life. Women have been long encouraged to be actors or singers or models. I want to tell them they can be anything they want. You can be a director, a writer, a producer, the CEO of your own company." - Jen Soska

"Jen and I are born collaborators, we have always had one another and worked together as a team, so the team comes very natural to us. Jen is, in many if not all ways, my better half. She's got this beautiful outlook on the world, a wonderful quirky sense of humor, and she is brilliant with people." - Sylvia Soska

Fake Shemp Talks to the Twisted Twins

What was your favourite film or television show as a child?

Sylvia: DESPERADO, we would watch that non-stop, over and over again. I wanted to be El, then I grew up, I still want to be El. We watched Darkwing Duck, Beetlejuice, She-Ra, Gem, X-Men - you know, the usual suspects for kids that turn out like us.

Jen: ha ha, obviously we watched all the same shows. There were some films we watched a gratuitous amount of times. PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE, GHOSTBUSTERS, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT, SCROOGED... oh! And LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS! If it was scary it didn't matter. Our parents talked to us about what we watched and watched with us. More parents really ought to these days.

Were you raised on genre films or was it a self discovery?

Sylvia: Raised. Watching horror movies with my mom was a really special part of growing up. We always had an interest in it, so my mom encouraged us and would watch the films with us. If we had questions, we would talk about what we were watching. She was smart, she has a rule that if we read the book then we could watch the movie, which lead us to reading Stephen King novels in elementary school.

Jen: Very much raised. Our mum loved horror, so we inherited the horror loving gene. Genre films are just so cool. I fell in love with DESPERADO and how fucking cool it was before I even really got what made it so awesome.

Plenty of Horror Talks to the Twisted Twins

Plenty Of Horror- What attracted you to horror initially?

S: I can't remember ever not being attracted to it. We were drawn to things that others weren't. I remember playing with spiders my whole life. Once as a child at a BBQ, I showed a nice garden spider that I was playing with to family friends and I could see the horror on their faces. They ran off and screamed. I didn't understand why that happened, but it fascinated me. What frightens people still fascinates me.

J: I don't remember a time not being into horror. It just kind of chose us. Our parents always encouraged our interests and they just leaned towards horror. Our mum had and still has this massive collection of Stephen King novels. She was very clever in the way she allowed us to read them. She said if we read the novel, we could watch the film. This jump started our reading in a life changing way. In Elementary School, we'd sit there and read with our King novels and dictionaries and thesauruses. We were reading at a highschool level fast. I blame my mum and mister King for our sense of humor as well. I feel that good horror has to have elements of comedy to them. If you can't laugh at something awful, you're going to have a very hard time in life.

The Twisted Twins Hit America's Most Haunted

“Twisted Twins” Jen and Sylvia Soska are back with their stunning follow-up to the indie hit DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. Eli Roth and Clive Barker are huge fans of the Canadian twins, who are the "Next Big Thing in Horror."

AMERICAN MARY is the story of a medical student named Mary who grows broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries, which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.

Appearances are everything.

AMERICAN MARY is available on VOD and will be in theaters on May 31st.

Horror Movie Reviews Chats Up Twins

"What is the funniest thing that has happened on set?

Sylvia: We had a very fun set filled with people who had a great sense of humor. One of my favorite moments was when we needed jizz for a scene for an actress to spit out of her mouth and our props master, Brad Shemko who we just love, came over with this cup of what looked very much like semen and told me that here’s the jizz and he’d been working all night on it. I laughed and asked if it was OK to go in her mouth. ‘It has to go in her mouth?’ ‘Yup.’ ‘Oh.’ Then he walked away with it.

Jen: On DHIAT we set some fireworks off and when the park ranger showed up we blamed “a group on teenagers that ran off.” I still can’t believe that line worked. I’m so sorry for supporting a negative stereotype, teenagers of the world."
