IFC Midnight Hooker Trailer Slinks Onto Your Favorite Horror Sites

The story of a group of film nerds banding together, maxing out credit cards to make a feature, isn't something that usually gets the opportunity of a wide release, but because of the people of the horror community that stood by DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, shared the story and spread the word - the film is going into its world release and has a sexy new trailer cut by the wonderful folks at IFC Midnight.

Here are our friends that are standing strong behind the film and pimping the new trailer. Very good folks - it's an honor to be on these sites. Thank you for the support and making this all possible --

ANYTHING HORROR
"Just got an email from my favorite twisted sisters, Jen and Sylvia Soska, about their debut film DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. We all know this isn’t a new film. In fact I review it back in July of 2010 (see my review here). But back then it was a relatively unknown film and I wanted to help the Soska sisters change that. I don’t know how much I personally helped*, but today DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK has become a cult classic and is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Not only has it been picked up by IFC Midnight, but it’s currently playing on VOD, it’s having a limited theatrical run in the US, its available on DVD in both Australia and the UK, and the rest of the world will be able to get the DVD early in 2012, with a ton of DVD extras (deleted scenes, outtakes, a behind the scenes featurette, director commentary, and technical commentary)." - Scott Shoyer

*Scott is being a modest gentleman, he has supported the film immeasurably. AnythingHorror.com is always there to support the independents.

TALES FROM THE BATCAVE
"Brand new trailer for the movie you're probably most sick of reading me ramble on about, Dead Hooker in a Trunk! We are finally getting our region 1 dvd release from the fine folks at IFC Midnight this January! About damn time too, I need more than my screener copy of this." - Mister Bones

IGOR'S LAB

Sam the Horror Man chats with the Twisted Twins Tonight!

Sam the Horror Man is the man. He is pictured above on the street where Laurie Strode in Halloween first encounters Michael Myers. Epic.

He's been a long time supporter of our exploits beginning from when our DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK first dragged it's ridiculous and demented self onto the horror scene. We've come a long way and it's a real pleasure to speak again with a friend who believed in us and our work from the very start of it all. Tonight, on The Savir Show we'll be re-united. He also writes for Bloody Disgusting, which we love like Freddy Kruger loves narcolepsy. He is one of the geniuses behind The Realm Cast which is a geek~gasmic site. It's spectacular and amazing and sometimes even "web of" (yeah, that's one for my fellow Marvel fanatics).

And just to add even more awesome to an already awesome show, fellow femme fatale, Andrea Albin will be on the show! It's the first time we'll be making voice to voice contact. We recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Andrea for STIFF Magazine alongside everyone's (and our) favorite badass director, Eli Roth. You can order yours here and get the full interview also here on The Albin Way, the wicked awesome blog of miss Albin.

Tune in tonight to hear The Twisted Twins share some awesome info in their filmmaking careers. Sylvia & Jen Soska. Tune in at www.viewen.com. / VRadio . 9pm-10pm CST/ 10pm-11pm EST/ 7pm-8pm PST.

Tune in tonight, boys and grrls!

Bloody Best!

A Tease Before The Horror Storm With The Horror Man

We have been very blessed with the rad horror folk that have come into our lives. Our world went from being the weird girls in love with the horror genre who were somewhat outcast because of our macabre fascinations, to being in the company of like-minded individuals who love the red stuff as much as we do. One such special friend is The Realm Cast's Horror Man, Sam.

New to the blogspot? Get caught up on the history here.

"If you think you know the directors of Dead Hooker in a Trunk and the upcoming American Mary, you know nothing!

This interview is along time coming. For that I am truly sorry to the lovely lady’s known as Sylvia and Jen Soska. Things came up and bodies needed to be disposed of before I could do this write up.

This interview took place just before some major news about the twins latest film American Mary broke so if there are a few things that are dated, never fear, we plan on conducting part two of this little interview sooner than later."

Being friends, Sam is great at getting the goods in his fun and insightful interview style. I don't usually talk about mutilated penises, but when I do - it's our friend, Sam, that has gotten it out of us.

HM: So no forked penises in Mary then?

SS: “Oh my gosh! You won’t believe what we do to penises in Mary! Were doing horrible things to penises in this one. Your going to be begging us to just do a forked penis instead (laughs). Our friends reading some of the script have said ” Why don’t you like men, penis this, penis that.”(laughs) We love men, there fun.”

It's a great, very candid interview and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did doing it. Get your fill with the whole piece here. Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, Sam. Looking very forward to round two!

Twisted Twins on the Proverbial Move Celebrating Women In Horror Month!

The party rages on in 2011's Women In Horror month with world wide celebrations. In case you're living in a cave, let me give you the story.

Women have always been an integral part of film and horror. However, we are still struggling and fighting to be as recognized as our male counter parts. Many people do appreciate and celebrate women and their contributions to film and horror, but we've still got a way to go. Thankfully, we do have some incredible women paving the way and fighting the good fight. Enter one woman who is at the helm of this movement. An astoundingly talented and provocative writer, an unrelenting feminist, the creator of both Ax Wound Zine (loved and read by Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino, and, of course, yours trulys) and Women In Horror month itself, Hannah Neurotica. This celebration, in one short year, has grown in epic proportions and continues to just get bigger and better, bringing more and more talents into the spotlight where they belong.

We are happy as hell to be the co-founders of the WiH month Massive Blood Drive, a charitable event that runs world wide in conjunction with Women in Horror month encouraging horror fans to give up the red stuff to those most in need. We found it most fitting.

But that's not all! We've been given the esteemed honor of scoring some kick ass interviews in celebration of Women In Horror. It is an honor so immense that it leaves us at a loss for words. We could never hope to truly express our gratitude.

So where we will be chatting and with who? Well, we kicked shit off on ZINE CORE RADIO, a show hosted by Hannah Neurotica and Debbie Rochon that also featured a plethora of female talent, including Shannon Lark, Heidi Martinuzzi, Amy Lynn Best, Denise Gossett, April Monique Burril, and Jovanka Vuckovic.

Coming soon so stay tuned...

The Realm Cast is Realm Awesome

One day left in November before the big countdown to the AMERICAN MARY teaser release on December 11th. You can keep track with the new countdown calendar on the front page of the site (million thanks to CJ Wallis for creating something so pretty and dirty).

I'm getting realmy realmy stoked and that's not just because our friends at The Realm Cast is getting the word out about the upcoming sneak peek. Well, maybe it IS because The Realm Cast is getting the word out. Thank you, Sam the Horror Man, for saying this --

"My favorite twins are back and have loads more to offer us."

Aw, shucks. The feeling is mutual, sir.

"Oh the lovely Soska sisters. They truly do make my black heart skip a beat. They brought us the gritty fun flick Dead Hooker In A Trunk, and now they plan on giving us more horror goodies to enjoy starting December 11th.

The date is an important one to the women as it also happens to be the two-year anniversary of their production company’s formation."

Read the whole piece here. Then, because you're already on a rad site for fans by fans, you should mill about. Loitering is fine and you're going to love it. It's a must read for horror fans.

Take it From the Horror Man...

If you can't trust the Horror Man, who can you turn to? Exactly. We had the great pleasure of chatting with the aforementioned Man of Horror and would love to share. Check out the interview HERE. And DO remember to comment and pass this bad boy around.

A very special thank you to Sam The Horror Man for this honor.
