Women Have Shaped Horror

It always surprises me when someone asks me if it's hard for a woman in the horror industry. Horror is one of the few industries that I know of that has always embraced women, written them incredible roles, and been bettered by their brilliant contributions. It is a perfect place for a feminist as men and women alike encourage, support, and give outstanding career opportunities to the fairer sex. Women have terrified us and captivated us. They've challenged us and inspired us. Women like....

Sigourney Weaver.

Mary Harron.

Linda Blair.

Kathryn Bigelow.

These women are power houses. But, they're not the only ones. Monika Bartyzel, of Cinematical, has recently beautifully written an article taking a closer look at the incredible women who have helped make the horror industry what it is today. We are most honored to have been mentioned.

Take a look at the FULL ARTICLE here. Your inner feminist will thank you.

PS. It's only 4 months until February's annual Women In Horror recognition month. See you there, boys and grrls...!

XO,
Jen
